I found yoga after my eldest son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called MPS 1 in 2001. A former professional figure skater, I was drawn to the movement, strength and grace of yoga asana, but soon realized it was the connection to my breath through that movement that provided the stillness of mind I was craving. For over a decade, I practised Ashtanga, Vijnana, Vinyasa Flow and Power Vinyasa yoga to keep myself grounded while working as the executive director of the Canadian MPS Society. In the spring of 2015, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in Vancouver's Karma Teachers Yoga College, a revolutionary experience that deepened my knowledge and love of yoga and my commitment to a dedicated practice rooted in selfless service. While living in Prince George from 2015-2018, I dove deep into my yoga journey and now that I'm back in North Vancouver, I am excited to continue to share my passion for yoga with others who are seeking a tool for transformation.
